SESRIC and the Turkish Green Crescent Society have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate and facilitate collaboration between both organisations in matters of common interest and to establish necessary modalities for their implementation. The MoU was signed on 20 November 2015 by H.E. Amb. Musa Kulaklıkaya, Director General of SESRIC, and Prof. Dr. Mücahit Öztürk, Director General of the Turkish Green Crescent Society.
The MoU aims at enhancing cooperation between SESRIC and the Turkish Green Crescent Society on research, training and capacity building activities on regional, national and international level as well as raising awareness against addictions and sharing knowledge and best practices in the field of public health.
General Director of Green Crescent Prof. Dr. Mücahit Özturk stated that it is very important for them to show as a good example and make worldwide the preventive studies they have realized in their fight against addictions. Prof. Dr. Özturk added "These projects are designed and conducted according to scientific bases and the targeted audience". In this respect, our projects are able to address the globe as well. Thanks to the MoU signed with SESRİC, our projects will be a model for OIC Member Countries."
General Director of SESRİC H.E. Amb Musa Kulaklıkaya specified in his speech that it is so important to cooperate with the Turkish Green Crescent Society which addresses and reaches all the segments of the society thanks to its significant efforts. H.E. Amb Musa Kulaklıkaya also highlighted that the Turkish Green Crescent Society has strong roots and is well experienced in its fight against addictions. H.E. Amb Musa Kulaklıkaya added " hopefully we will be the bridge for transferring the Turkish Green Crescent Society’s experiences and practicle methods to other countries."
