Seminar on 'Market Economy and its Limits'

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) organised and hosted a seminar on “Market Economy and its Limits” in its headquarters in Ankara on July 15, 2009. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Asad Zaman, International Islamic University of Islamabad.

Dr. Asad Zaman received his B.S. in Mathematics from MIT in 1974, M.S. in Mathematics from Stanford University in 1976 and Ph.D in Economics also from Stanford University in 1978. Since 1978, he taught economics at various universities such as Universite Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, John Hopkins University, Bilkent University and Lahor University. He is now a faculty member at the International Islamic University of Islamabad, International Institute of Islamic Economics. He has many articles published in prestigious journals.
